1. Users & Permissions

Inviting Users to Talon

Note: To be able to invite a new user, the user must be assigned to an Administrator role.

  1. Navigate to Users & Permissions - Users.


  2. Click the + Invite User button.


  3. Fill in fields (fields denoted with * are required).

  1. Select the role to be assigned to new user (refer to Creating a Custom Role below for how to instructions on adding a custom role).

    Note: Users can be assigned roles within the Organization or within an Agent Organization. To invite a user as part of an Agent Organization, reach out to your Talon representative.


  2. Select Accounts to be enabled for the new user (refer to External Banks and Bank Deposits sections to link accounts to the Talon Application).


  3. Invite User.


  4. User will receive an invitation to join the workspace on Talon.

To invite a user who has access to the Talon application already through a different workspace, follow the same instructions as listed above. The user will receive an invitation. Once accepted the user will have access to multiple workspaces, which can be accessed through the Organization drop down on the top left of your screen.

User Management

An Administrator can revoke a user's invitation to the Organization’s workspace if it has not been accepted. The user’s status will remain as 'Pending' until accepted. To revoke the invitation, click the 'X' button under Actions.

Once a user's invitation has been accepted, an Administrator can update the user’s contact information, role, and modify account-level permissions by accessing User Details and clicking on the Edit Details button.

If a user leaves the organization, an Administrator can remove the user by clicking on the delete button.

Adding a Non User

Non Users can be managers or authorized parties of the Organization's entities who do not require access to the Talon application.

  1. To add a new non user, navigate to the Non User tab.


  2. Click on +Create Non User Member.

  1. Fill in the required fields.

  2. Submit.

Creating a Custom Role

Within the Talon application, each organization is provided a set of base roles for that can be applied to any user of the organization.

  • Administrator - provides view only authorities across most features of the application, and full privileges relating to user management.

  • Super User - provides setup, approval, and administrative authorities across all elements of the application.

  • User - provides limited authorities across all elements of the application.

  • View Only - provides view only permission across all elements of the application.

Note: To be able to create a custom role, the user must have Administrator privileges.

  1. Navigate to Users & Permissions - Roles.


  2. Click on the + Add Role button.


  3. Fill in Role Name and the Role Description.

  1. Select Permission Levels for each Permission Category that are applicable for the Role.

  1. For Permission Categories requiring an Approval Standard, select the appropriate Approval Standard to apply. The Approval Standard defines the number of approvals needed for a specific permission. For example, if a user assigned to the role submits a payment request with an Approval Standard of "Required One Different User," only one approval would be necessary for the payment.

  1. After selecting all applicable Permissions, input Approval Limits for the Role.

    • Single Payment Approval Limit (absolute terms) - The limit that the user assigned to the Role can approve for one payment.

    • Cumulative Daily Payment Approval Limit (absolute terms) - The limit that the user assigned to the Role can approve in one day. (Note that this limit include any amounts that the user submits straight through).

    • Cumulative Weekly Payment Approval Limit (absolute terms) - The limit that the user assigned to the Role can approve in one week. (Note that this is based on the value date of the payment and includes any amounts that the user submits straight through).

    • Threshold at which payment requires approval - The single payment limit the user assigned to the Role can submit without requiring additional approval. (Note that amounts submitted will be included in Daily and Weekly Payment Approval Limits).

    • Cumulative Daily Threshold at which payment requires approval - The cumulative daily payment limit the user assigned to the Role can submit without requiring additional approval. (Note that amounts submitted will be included in Daily and Weekly Payment Approval Limits).

    • Cumulative Weekly Threshold at which payment requires approval - The cumulative weekly payment limit the user assigned to the Role can submit without requiring additional approval. (Note that amounts submitted will be included in Daily and Weekly Payment Approval Limits).


  2. Submit.

Agent Organizations

  1. To add a new Agent Organization, navigate to the Agent Organization tab.

  2. Click on the +Add Agent Organization button

  3. Fill in the required fields.

  4. Submit.
